Japanese WiFi event -Manaphy & New move for Victini

By The Spirit of Time on August 5, 2010

A WiFi event is going to be held for all the Japanese Gen IV games starting from the 14th of August till the 12th of September, where all the players of Pokémon will be able to download a Manaphy holding Lansat Berry and having Aqua Ring and Water Sport as its moves. There might be another two moves, but they weren't mentioned.

A new move for Victini was also revealed. This move is called Complete Burn. No additional information was revealed, but it is obvious enough to know that it is a fire type attack.

Pokemon B/W Theatrical Commercial Now Available on Japanese Nintendo Channel (Wii)

By AuraKshatriya on August 4, 2010

As the title says, the commercial which was shown in theatres briefly before the screening of Gen`ei no Hasha:Zoroark, of which pictures were leaked by
Water Pokemon Master of PokeBeach not too long ago, is now available on the Japanese Nintendo Channel on the Wii, as shown below:

Black and White to feature only Gen V Pokémon pre-National Dex

By The Spirit of Time on August 4, 2010

Stated in the Director's Blog, written by Junichi Masuda, Pokémon Black and White will only contain monsters from the fifth generation up until enough completion to receive the National Pokédex. Junichi Masuda's reasoning was to allow players to start anew and get a fresh experience, regardless of whether they were new to the series or veteran trainers. Masuda wanted to try to revive the spark from the Red and Green days for all players.

In addition to this, the route numbers start over from 1, instead of continuing around 400. This emphasizes the isolation Isshu has from the rest of the regions. As Isshu appears to be based on Shanghai, China, while the rest of the world is based on parts of Japan, this is most likely the reason for the renumbering.

New Unknown Magazine Scan

By Ningamer on August 3, 2010

Magmaster12 posted a link to a possible scan of a magazine in the chat, revealing two new Pokemon (One of which looks like a Chimeco evolution) , and more information on an electric tarantula and a sarcophagus (Their back sprites were leaked in screenshots a while ago). Moguryu, Victini and Mamanboo are also shown. NOTE THAT THESE COULD EASILY BE FAKE.
Spoiler Alert:
Low res image was the only one I could find after the 2chan one was deleted...

The skull-like one's text reads "sukasai"
The electric spider's text reads "Tenchiyura"
The chimeco-like one's text reads "Horikayana"
'Thanks to AuraKshatrya for the translations'

All other Pokemon have been previously translated.

Pokemon Black & White Pokemon and Character Info

By Ningamer on August 3, 2010

A Japanese Pokemon website has leaked new art for both of the new Pokemon from the recent trailer, as well as one new Pokemon. No new names have been released.
Spoiler Alert:
'Note: There is a slim chance that these may be fake.'

There are also two new images for two of the characters, one from Best Wishes and the other from the recent trailer.
Spoiler Alert:
First is named Dento, the second is named Aroe

'Source: Serebii'

Quote by AuraKshatriya:Additionally, Victini was revealed to be a Psychic/Fire type, and it`s ability revealed to be called "Victory Star". And (we all saw this coming), Victini`s species is now known to be the "Victory Pokemon", and it stands at 0.4m tall, with a weight of 4.0 kg. Also, on a side note, the website in question where these were leaked was Yahoo Japan`s Pokemon page (which is surprising, because they don`t often have brand new Pokemon information this early).

Pokemon Sunday Showcases New Best Wishes Characters and Black and White Demo

By AuraKshatriya on August 1, 2010

In all honesty, I`m surprised this hasn`t already been posted, (though I`m still getting the feeling I just ended up overlooking it in PokeNews...in which case I`m very sorry about double posting xD) but anyway, Pokemon Sunday showed a fairly long demo of Pokemon Black and White in which the female trainer battles Bell, and then shortly after, Cheren. It was shown that, (unless it varies between play-throughs) Cheren will hae the starter which is advantageous against the player`s Pokemon, while Bell will have the starter which is at a disadvantage. Additionally, the female trainer`s VS sprite and in-battle player sprite and animation was also shown.

Aside from that, a small segment showed two new characters who will be appearing in the Best Wishes anime, Iris (アイリス) and Dento (デント). Iris is travelling with a Kibago. Additionally, the official Best Wishes website had mini-bios for both characters:

Iris: "Iris is wild-acting girl who likes to climb trees and chew berries. For some reason, she's travelling with her friend, the dragon type Pokémon Kibago."

Dento: "With an abundance of knowledge and experience, Dento is a "Pokémon Sommelier", who checks ("diagnoses") the compatibility between a trainer and their Pokémon, gives them advice on how to become better friends. Is the actual condition what is expected?"

Here is the promotional poster for the series, provided as was one for the Diamond and Pearl series before it begun:

July 31, 2010 is the predicted date to completely move from VPS.NET to HiVelocity hosting. During this time, the site may be inaccessible or appear down for up to 24 hours from when we update DNS records. Victory Road will be the first to have its records updated and will be the primary concentration of resuming online status. Additional sites, including Floatzel.Net and Crystal Islands, will follow immediately after, and then all of the other sites.

To all hosted sites: expect an e-mail with your new DNS information. You will need to update it to keep your site running. THERE IS A CHANCE YOUR SITE WILL BE OFFLINE FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS. If your site is still not online only by August 2, please send me an e-mail stating such.

By Yoshi648 on July 30, 2010

Seems with all the buzz of the up-coming Pokémon Black and White we have been receiving a lot of new members. Welcome to all of you! I would just like to remind you all to PLEASE read over the rules.

The main rules I want to point out are 2, 3, 7, 10, 11 and all of the ones for signature usage (though obviously I want you to read all 21 rules).

Thank you and enjoy your time on Victory Road.
