IT'S OVER 50,000!

By Yoshi648 on May 14, 2010

We now have over 50,000 total posts!

Wow, I still remember the days when this place was a ghost town. Big thanks to all our members to make this a fun place to be. Now let's go for 100,000!

The Demented Chicken Network, Total Pokémon, Anime Inferno

By Cat333Pokémon on May 13, 2010

I added a total of three new sites.

The first of them, an affiliate, is the Demented Chicken Network. While it has a funny name, there are lots of goodies on this website, especially some very nice fan art, fan-fiction, and articles about EVs and Pokémon designs. I highly recommend visiting this site.

The second site, a partner, is James' revived Anime Inferno. While largely community driven, it features a Pokédex made mostly by yours truly, and all of the game introductions he has put together.

The final site, another partner, is the reposessed Total Pokémon, currently owned by Legend. At the moment, there are quite a few minor to major issues, like elements not working and links going to the wrong places. However, he's going to be working on fixing it up to be a very nice site in the future.

Thanks guys!

WANTED: Spammers

By Yoshi648 on May 13, 2010

Seems that with our growing popularity, we have been getting A LOT of spammers recently. They have been creating new accounts and then proceed to either post their garbage on the forum or PM their garbage to members (yet not admins or mods, I can't imagine why).

While we have been watching the new members come in and deleting the ones that make it very obvious they are spammers, there are still some that still get through. The ones who don't make it obvious they are a spammer just PM their junk to members of the forum where mods/admins can't see.

That's where you come in. If you receive a PM from a spammer and their account hasn't been deleted yet, please notify me or Cat through PM/Profile comment so that we can delete the account and they won't pester anyone else. Likewise, if you see the spam account has already been deleted then just simply delete the spam PM and move along. Thank you for your cooperation.

More Pokémon Black and White Scans Revealed in CoroCoro

By Cat333Pokémon on May 13, 2010

This early morning, Serebii updated with many new scans of CoroCoro, showing off a variety of different features of the イッシュ Isshu region. Sorry for the fuzzy quality on some; that's how they came. Also, Pokabu's name is CONFIRMED, as can be seen in one of the later images.

In addition, several details on the start Pokémon are now detailed:

 • Mijumaru, the water starter, will have the Torrent ability. It is also .5m tall and weights 5.9kg.
 • Tsutaja, the grass starter, will have the Overgrow ability. It is also .6m tall and weights 8.1kg.
 • Pokabu, the fire starter, will have the Blaze ability. It is also .6m tall and weights 9.9kg.

Additional information to be added here: Pokémon Black and White

Many thanks: Serebii: Pokémon Black & White Pictures

The starters of Pokemon Black & White are revealed!

By The Spirit of Time on May 12, 2010

Serebii revealed today the first 3 starters. As usual, fire, water and grass are the types of the starters. Serebii also mentioned that the two main characters of the games are elder than usual, giving us a hint that Pokemon is finally growing up. Apart from that, Serebii promised to have the names soon.

Interested anyone?

Here are some pictures:

The names are possibly, as posted on PokéBeach, ツタージャ, ポカブ, and ミジュマル, which are Tsutaaja, Pokabu, and Mijumaru.

Many thanks to PokéBeach for additional info!

More New Arcade Games

By FreezeWarp on May 7, 2010

Most of you know the drill by now, right?

New Games:
1. Air Hockey - An air hockey table that gets increasingly difficult.
2. Big Money - A game about money!
3. Breakit - A slightly more cartoony breakout game.
4. Crystal Clear - A strategic puzzle game that can be a good way to kill 20 minutes.
5. Galaga - A replacement for Galaxian (see below).
6. Othello - A classic puzzle game.
7. Spider Solitaire - A fun solitaire variant.
8. Way of the Stick - A one-level stick fighting game that is pretty basic.

Removed Games:
Due to general complaints, the following games have been removed:
1. Connect 4 (it was never technically added) - A bad means of scoring.
2. 1992 - Many glitches.
3. Galaxian - Many more glitches.

For now, high scores will remain, though they could be removed (especially for Galaxian and Connect 4) in the future.

1. Only Moderators, Super Moderators, Ast. Admins, and Admins can invite friends for tourneys.
2. Post count requirements have been removed for all games.

New Pokewalker route: Winner's Path

By Yoshi648 on May 5, 2010

A new Pokewalker path will be available for the US versions of HGSS called Winner's Path. With this route you can capture a Munchlax that knows Self Destruct. Distribution starts Thursday, May 6th, and it will be available over Wi-Fi Mystery Gift (much like Yellow Forest, which ends today). The instructions are:

 • Go to "Mystery Gift" on the main screen.
 • Choose "Receive Gift" and then "Receive from Nintendo WFC"
 • Go to any PokéMart and talk to the delivery man in green.
 • Save and reset.
 • Choose "Connect to PokéWalker" on the main screen.
 • Select the Winner's Path Map

Arcade Goodies

By FreezeWarp on May 4, 2010

Due to the general popularity of the last batch of games, I have decided to extend this with an additional five games:

 • 1992 - A new take on the classic 1942.
 • Donkey Kong Jr. - Must I say more?
 • Archery 2000 - A popular flash classic, Archery.
 • Galaxian - Travel the galaxy!
 • Pinball Deluxe - A deluxe pinball table.

As some of you may have noticed, we have also enabled arcade tournaments at the request of SK. All users can create and join tourneys, while Administrators can manage them.

Finally, some of the games in the last batch, and all of those in the current, have an added post count requirement. For most users this shouldn't be a problem, but we always encourage posting =D.

News Posting Rules

By FreezeWarp on May 4, 2010

Citing Sources
At Victory Road, we would like to request anyone posting news do so by properly citing their source. This usually means, "where did I hear about this myself?". However, it is important that you ONLY cite the most accurate source possible - official sources are always most accurate. Serebii and Bulbapedia are much less accurate than official sources - cite the official source and only the official source if it is available.

For example, if you read something from Serebii, it would make sense to post a link accordingly. However, if they are reporting on something that was posted by an official source, then the official news story MUST be sourced instead.

Official sources are Pokémon.*, Nintendo.*, the unique Pokémon Games sites (such as pokemongoldsilver.com), Gamefreak.co.jp, and any other sources that are owned by the Pokémon Company or Nintendo.

Failing to cite your sources may result in a ban or loss of moderative powers. The first (or second) time you do so, you will merely get a warning. Additionally, no bans will take place for not citing the most accurate source, but we ask all moderators to change the source to a more accurate one if possible.

Repetitive Posts
Please do not repeat posts. Before posting new news, make sure no one else has already posted the same topic. If someone posts the news story before you get the chance, please request that your topic be deleted to a moderator. All news posts go onto the homepages of VictoryRoad.net and Floatzel.Net, and is simply redundant.

If the first source is poorly written, a moderator or administrator is allowed to rewrite it, post it him or herself, and delete the old one.

What to Post
The only threads that should be posted in PokéNews are those that are news. Likewise, if something is news (and is as such new), do not post it in any of the other forums - make sure to post it here. If you are not a moderator, please post in the "Pokémon General" forum. This way, both Floatzel.Net and RSS readers will see it.

Post Formatting
All post formatting to be as plain and simple as possible. Custom formatting for the entire post, like Bolded Green, is strictly disallowed.

Proper Images
Whenever feasible, please upload all images as attachments, and use the BB-code instead of spoilers. If you want the entire image to be displayed, then copy the image URL.

Please keep as much opinion out of your news posts as possible. This includes saying things like "the cool new games" and posting what you think of new Pokémon. Instead, you may make a second post after your news post with your opinions. This form of double posting is allowed.

When providing a date in the near future, please include the day of the week and the year. The day of the week vastly improves mental planning without requiring looking up dates in a calendar, while the year allows people viewing it next year to know it was in the past (even though the date stamp already shows the year the article was posted). For example, use "Wednesday, May 9, 2012" instead of simply "May 9."

If a thread contains spoilers, please include the word "SPOILERS" in the thread title.
Example: "(Spoilers) New Pokémon designs"

If a thread reveals a major piece of information, only allude to it in the thread title.
No: "Champion Blue Confirmed!"
Yes: "Champion Revealed!"
