New Dream World Expansion to Commemorate 14th Pokémon Movies

By AuraKshatriya on June 16, 2011

Beginning on July 16th of this year, Japanese players of Pokémon Black and White will be able to access a new home in the Dream World, modeled after the setting of the two 14th Pokémon movies, Eind Oak. Whether it will bring new areas such as the Pokémon Café, or new furniture, is as of yet unknown. However, putting Zekrom or Reshiram to sleep here will apparently yield some special features.

Official Resignation

By FreezeWarp on June 15, 2011

And as with everything else, I'm a week late with this. It is sorta hard to know where to begin - I’d like to be blunt, but somehow being tacky almost seems more fun. So let’s try that, shall we?

For a quick backstory for those who don’t know who I am, I came here after being an administrator at a site called Pokézam, where the sorta number-two guy arranged that our forum merge into this forum sometime around February 2010, or something like that. I got to be the admin at first, which was nice. The truth is, at the time I had considered leaving the site entirely for other interests - Pokémon, while I still love the games, does get a bit old after a while (especially with so many other great things). However, when everything else occured I decided against it (for the time) and came here. It was nice at first, but the staff is more than a little drama-filled. It’s somewhat (or equally [or more {or entirely}]) my own fault for always wanting to push buttons, but why else are they there if we’re not supposed to push them?!

Well, anyway, I created some cool things at different intervals, the big ones VictoryDex and VictoryBattles. More recently I tried something less-Pokémony and actually quite enjoyed it. That, of-course, being FreezeMessenger. However, at the same time, I’ve lost pretty much all interest in the other things I’ve done. It’s kinda sad, really, but there’s not much more to it. VictoryBattles, which was doing quite well, simply won’t be able to see its deserved attention from me, and the same seems to apply to VictoryDex. Though, if I do decide to tinker, I'll let you all know. I may have some future development, we'll see.

Of course, I’ve done cold turkey before and it’s kinda annoying. And, really, it’s not that I hate Victory Road or the I hate Cat333Pokémon or that I hate Pokémon or that I hate the Internet (in fact, much to the contrary on all four), but I’m no longer happy working for any of them (though, the Internet is still a pretty fun playground+wreckingball). Thus I will still post, perhaps much more often now, but that’s all I’ll likely be doing in the any too near of future. Whatever the powers that the powers that be see fit to give me I’m frankly fine with (that is, I’m happy remaining a supermod as I post here today as and happy as nothing), and the same applies to all server related maintenance, but like I said, that’s up to the guys upstairs, and I have no interest in anything of responsibility.

At any rate, development for pretty much everything major I do for this site is out, except for small things that friends here would like me to do (such as the VRGL), but at the moment I do not have permission to do such things (and haven't for a few months), and I'm really not interested parading around demanding them. As for FreezeMessenger, I will not too long after posting this (a week or two at the most) release version 3, and allow the guy in charge of the red switch to install it if he so likes. However, it may not be totally backwards compatible with version 2, so I guess I’d be more than happy to install it for him if he comes to me in a dream asking me to. Likewise, I may eventually craft up a version 4 - I’ve already received a couple of suggestions and people who have more are welcome to tell me.

And so, you are more than free to get a hold of me if you have any questions. At this point most of what I code will be findable at my temporary development site (which may be broken at the moment...) and in my signature, which will include the public version of FreezeMessenger if you want to run a chat of your own. If I’m allowed to, I’ll probably post a more detailed advertisement of it somewhere on the forum, and if not it should be in my signature and elsewhere.

Finally, I truly must thank all of those who have made this a pleasurable experience, and certainly must say its been enjoyable here on the whole. That's not something I can say about most corners of the Internet :P.

Thanks to You All,

p.s. I can be reached in a million different ways.

Pokémon Black and White movie giveaway and new Super Pokémon Scramble update

By Aquablast on June 13, 2011

Details have been revealed for the Reshiram and Zekrom giveaway for July 16th. Both of the Pokémon are at level 100. Zekrom for Black holds a Dragon Gem and moves are Bolt Strike, Fusion Bolt, Haze, and Outrage, which compliments it's Physical inclination, stat-wise. Reshiram, being available to owners of Pokémon White, will also have a Dragon Gem and it will know the moves Blue Flare, Fusion Bolt, Mist, and Draco Meteor, making use of Reshiram's dominant Special Attack stat. The moves Haze and Mist are present due to their Japanese names, "Kuroi Kiri" and "Shiro Kiri", which translate as "Black Mist" and "White Mist" respectively.

In addition, new Super Pokémon Scramble pictures were released. It has been revealed, via said pictures, that the bottom screen of the Nintendo 3DS will act as a statistics menu of sorts, showing things such as how many coins the player has earned, and who you have defeated. The pictures also shows that Pokémon from all Generations will be available, though how many Pokémon there will be in total remains unknown.

Super Pokémon Rumble (3DS) - CONFIRMED

By Cat333Pokémon on June 8, 2011

A new Pokémon Rumble game titled Super Pokémon Scramble (Super Pokémon Rumble as a possible English title) has been spotted on a Japanese retailer's upcoming releases list for the Nintendo 3DS. The release poster dates the release at June 15, 2011, for a price of ¥4,380. Because of the high price and that it is on a retailer's release list indicates this may be an actual cartridge release and not an eShop download.

There has been no news on any international releases for this title, and this is not a confirmation of the Japanese release.

The game has just been confirmed via the official Pokémon website. It will actually be released on July 28th for the Nintendo 3DS. Game-play is identical to that of the first Scramble/Rumble but will feature the new Pokémon from the Black/White series. The game will feature both single-player and two-player local play.

Pokédex 3D

By Yoshi648 on June 1, 2011

Nintendo has reveled one of the first apps for the Nintendo 3DS eShop. This app titled Pokédex 3D will allow you to view all 150+ Pokémon that appear in Black/White.

Function wise, it is essentially a "deluxe" Pokédex and shows a fully rotatable 3D model of the Pokémon. You start off with 16 Pokémon and can aquire more through QR Codes, SpotPass, or trading with others. In addition, it can also be used with the 3DS's cameras to add the Pokémon into your pictures much like the Augmented Reality cards. And the best part, this app will be free!

The Pokémon Café is now available in the Dream World for Japanese players. It was released on May 25th 2011, and will continue to be accessible until August 30th, 2011. The Pokémon Café is a Dream World House which allows players to access new furniture, as well as a special Pokémon Café C-Gear Skin. As with other Dream World areas, the Pokémon Café is also a location where Pokémon that have not been previously seen in the Dream World may be found. The Pokémon in question are Poliwhirl, Eevee, Smeargle, and Burmy, each having their respective Hidden Ability (Swift Swim, Anticipation, SMoody, and Overcoat). In addition, a new mini-game, "Drink Serving" can be played here, in which players control a Foongus, and must carry drinks to Pokémon visiting the café.
