Additional Pokémon Blu-Ray Releases Announced

By AuraKshatriya on April 1, 2011

Under a distribution partnership between companies Echo Bridge and Miramax, "select" Pokémon DVD titles are to be released in North America-whether this will include the previously announced Arceus and the Jewel of Life and Zoroark:Master of Illusions for Australia is as of yet unknown. However, at least two movies that do seem to be planned for North America release are Pokémon Heroes and Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys, as revealed by a Blu-Ray listing of the two on Amazon.com
The Blu-Ray movies in question will, instead of being merely resolution-enhanced versions of the DVD videos, be High Definition prints directly from Japan, as evidenced by previous releases of Pokémon 3:Spell of the Unown and Pokémon 2000 being re-released on Blu-Ray via iTunes.com

VR to be closed, server maintenance says cost of running too expensive (April Fools)

By Cat333Pokémon on March 31, 2011

After the maintenance of the last three days, we have determined that the cost of running the server is too expensive to continue for much longer. We will be closing down the site on April 27, 2011, which is when the next bill will be due. At this time, we will be moving to a new server, which will have much fewer features, with some important ones removed, such as MySQL and PHP. This will affect (and disable) Victory Road, VictoryBattles, the Pokékaki, all dynamic pages on Floatzel.net, Victorydex, and VRIM.

In addition, all hosted sites that require these resources will have to move to a new host.

The domain name, victoryroad.net, will be sold to a third party and may be used for different purposes.

Sorry, everyone, and thank you very much for your time spent with us at Victory Road.

A new online game is to be made playable on Pokemon.com once the Global Link and Dream World are running one again. The game in question, "Play to Befriend a Pokémon", is a brick-breaking game that, upon completion, allows for one of the seven Eeveelutions to be downloaded from the Dream World with their respective Dream World ability, all seven of which are listed below:

Jolteon: Quick Feet
Vaporeon: Hydration
Flareon: Guts
Umbreon: Inner Focus
Espeon: Magic Bounce
Glaceon: Ice Body
Leafeon: Chlorophyll

Players may only choose one of the Pokémon to download, which will be marked on their Trainer Club account until it is downloaded. The actual date of re-opening for the Dream World and Global Link is, as of yet, still unknown.

Edit from Yoshi: Just an FYI, there is an image floating about related to this news that contains the 8 current Eevees along with shadows for four unknown Eeveelutions. Please note that this image is FAKE and there are no new Eevees. The image in question (along with the article from where it was originated and then confirmed to be fake) can be seen here.
