Silvally, Hakamo-o, Kommo-o, Steenee, Tsareena, Ribombee, Alolan Grimer/Muk

By Cat333Pokémon on October 14, 2016

A new trailer has been released detailing several new Pokémon that will be available in Sun/Moon.

Silvally evolves from Type-Null, is Normal-type, and has the ability RKS System, which causes its type to change based on the item it's holding. This functions similarly to Arceus with Multitype. Also like Arceus, it has a unique move that changes type based on that item, Multi-Attack.

Jangmo-o evolves into Hakamo-o, which further evolves into Kommo-o. Both are Dragon-/Fighting-type with Bulletproof or Soundproof. Kommo-o has the unique move Clanging Scales.

Steenee evolves from Bounsweet, is Grass-type, and has the abilities Leaf Guard or Oblivious. It further evolves into Tsareena, also Grass-type, but instead with the abilities Leaf Guard or Queenly Majesty and a unique move called Trop Kick.

Ribombee evolves from Cutiefly, is Bug-/Fairy-type, and has the abilities Honey Gather or Shield Dust.

Grimer and Muk have both acquired Alola forms, both being Poison-/Dark-type and having the abilities Poison Touch and Gluttony.

In addition, the trailer reveals two new trainers: Olivia is the Kahuna of Akala Island, and Ilima is a Normal-type specialist Trial Captain,

Rowlet evolves into the Grass/Flying Dartrix.

Finally, a special demo of the games will be available to download on October 18, 2016. Through the demo, you will be able to acquire a Greninja that can transform via Bond Phenomenon into Ash-Greninja.

Lycanroc, Passimian, Oranguru, Pokémon Refresh, Catastropika, Extreme Evoboost

By Cat333Pokémon on September 20, 2016

The latest video has been released on the official Pokémon YouTube channel. In it are the following features:

Rockruff's evolution has been given the English name, Lycanroc. Lycanroc's two forms are version-exclusive Rock-types, with Midday Form (with Keen Eye or Sand Rush) exclusive to Pokémon Sun and Midnight Form (with Keen Eye or Vital Spirit) exclusive to Pokémon Moon.

Fighting-time Passimian (with the ability Receiver that takes a fainted ally's ability) is exclusive to Pokémon Sun, and Normal-/Psychic-type Oranguru (with the abilities Inner Focus or Telepathy) is exclusive to Pokémon Moon. Oranguru has a new move called Instruct, which gives its ally a second turn.

Pokémon Refresh is the replacement for Pokémon Amie. In addition to petting your Pokémon, you can also wash them after they become dirty from battling as well as cure them of status conditions. Poké Puffs have been replaced with Poké Beans.

Two new Z-Moves have been introduced. Pikachu can use Catastropika, a superpowered Electric attack. Eevee can call upon the other eight Eeveelutions in Extreme Evoboost to raise all five of its stats by two stages each.

Customization is back! Hats can be removed, and clothes items can be dyed using a new item called Festival Tokens.

Finally, the Pokémon Bank update will be released in January 2017. Pokémon from the Virtual Console releases of Pokémon Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow can be transferred (one-way) using Poké Transporter into Pokémon Bank.

Floatzel.Net is being rebuilt from the ground up

By Cat333Pokémon on September 12, 2016

I have been working on a complete restructuring of Floatzel.Net, with its aging Pokémon Black and White theme and a lack of significant changes since late 2010.

Some code from cancelled projects, such as VGVids, will be reused on the new responsive layout, and I will also be using a more compact set of headings:

Image Galleries
This section will contain a set of galleries for my images from various video games. In the current layout, I only have one for each Super Smash Bros. Brawl and My Pokémon Ranch, but I have many more images that will be posted to the site. Examples include Animal Crossing: New Leaf, PokéPark Wii, Pokémon Rumble, RollerCoaster Tycoon, and Grand Theft Auto V.

The music section will contain all of my remixes and original compositions in MP3, WAV, and raw MIDI. They will be organized more elegantly than they are now.

This will be all the articles I've written, plus some new ones I've never posted online.

I will be reposting a lot of my older YouTube content, all my Mario Paint Composer works, and some other stuff I haven't posted.

Fun & Games
This will be all the little browser games I've built, such as the Purity Test and an in-development Pokémon rating survey.

This is for the stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else on the site.

New evolutions for Rockruff, Ultra Beast UB-02, Sun & Moon Anime

By Cat333Pokémon on September 12, 2016

In the latest CoroCoro magazine leak, it was revealed that Rockruff will be getting a new evolution named Lugarugan (ルガルガン) with two different forms. By day it's in its Midday Form (真昼の姿), by night in its Midnight Form (真夜中の姿).

In addition, Ultra Beast UB-02 Beauty and UB-02 Expansion will fight against Tapu Koko.

Next, the anime was renewed for a Sun & Moon season. Serena will no longer be traveling with Ash. Instead, he will be going to school on course for graduation.

Finally, there is mention of Pokémon GO and how the Pokémon characters in it (specifically, Generation 1) will "make a serious effort" (本気を出す) in Sun & Moon in their Alolan forms. It is not a confirmation of transferring Pokémon from GO to Sun & Moon, but merely an advertisement of Sun & Moon for the Pokémon GO players.

Edit: Clarified that transferring Pokémon from GO to Sun & Moon is not confirmed.

The evolutions are version-exclusive.

Ultra Beasts, Aether Foundation, Zygarde Cubes, PokéFinder

By Cat333Pokémon on September 6, 2016

Several new features have been revealed for Sun and Moon.

The Pokémon:
  • The Normal-type Type: Null
  • The Dragon-type Jangmo-o
  • The Dark/Normal-type Alolan Raticate

And the Ultra Beast UB-01

In addition, the two games will take place twelve hours apart and have variances such as the totem Pokémon; where Gumshoos is a totem in Sun, Alolan Raticate is the totem in Moon.

The Aether Foundation run the Aether Island, and they fight against the forces of Team Skull.

There will be a search for Zygarde Cores, where you must find them and suck them into Zygarde Cubes.

Finally, PokéFinder Rotom can be used to take photographs of Pokémon in their natural habitats à la Pokémon Snap.

Alola Forms, Z Moves and a Few Other Things

By Dragonite on August 1, 2016

So we got a rather long Sun-Moon video today.

- A bunch of old Pokémon (namely Kanto Pokémon) get these new "Alola forms." I have mixed feelings about this. I'd rather Sandslash gets a legitimate new evolution than a special form only available in Alola. Like they did with Sinnoh.

- Alola Trials, one for each island. Finally, some serious sidequesting in Pokémon games. At least, I assume. We only got to see the bosses at the end today, though.

- A couple new Pokémon. Meh.

- Z Moves, which are basically the "attack" analogue of Mega Evolutions. You only get to use one a battle and they're supposedly ridiculously powerful, though I'm not sure what order of magnitude the base power's on. I don't like these. I didn't like Mega Evolutions 'cause power creep, and these look about the same. They look kind of cool, but I wouldn't be surprised if between these and the (undoubtedly more power creep-filled) Alola forms I never bother to get into Gen 7 competitive.

- Edit: oh yeah, you get to ride Pokémon too. This had better be what it looks like it is. *shakes fist in Nintendo's general direction*

By Cat333Pokémon on July 24, 2016

In preparation for Pokémon Sun and Moon, the Pokémon Global Link will be discontinued for the Generation 6 Pokémon games (X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire) this October. As a farewell gift, starting Tuesday, July 26, 2016, and running until ceasing of operations, the following perks will be enacted: all attractions will be half price, several useful items will be going on sale, and the Ability Capsule will be available to purchase for 5,000 Miles.

The Global Trade Station (GTS), Wonder Trade, and Free Battles will be unaffected by the discontinuation.

The Global Link for Pokémon Sun and Moon is due for launch on November 18, 2016.
